       <International Circulation>:What is the difference of the RAS in different adipose tissue? For example, are there any differences between visceral adipose tissue and subcutaneous adipose tissue?

    Prof. Cassis:That is a great question. We have shown experimentally in mice that high fat feeding causes a site-specific increase in angiotensinogen expression in visceral adipose tissue. Therefore, even with the RAS there does seem to be some differential regulation. We do not know the mechanisms of that and what we will probably be doing in these models we are creating is taking it out uniformly and it will be difficult to then get at the regional variations and how they contribute to the cardiovascular status but it is site-specifically increased viscerally.
